Imbolc walk and visit to Rebecca's Well, Wargrave
Join Us for a Scenic Walk!

Where: Meet at The George & Dragon Inn, High Street, Wargrave, RG10 8HY
Time: 11:00 AM
Join us for a lovely circular walk from The George & Dragon Inn to Rebecca's Well at Crazies Hill. The route is approximately 4 to 4.5 miles long and offers a relaxed, fairly easy-going pace.
What’s Special About Rebecca’s Well?
Rebecca’s Well is a charming historical landmark steeped in local folklore. Located in the quiet village of Crazies Hill, the well is said to be named after Rebecca, a local resident associated with the village’s history. Surrounded by picturesque countryside, it’s a perfect spot to take a breather and appreciate the scenery before continuing the walk.
What to Expect:
A scenic walk through the beautiful countryside.
Paths will be muddy, so wear appropriate footwear and dress for the weather.
Dogs and children are welcome to join in the fun!

Guided walk around the grounds of Reading University to explore it Pagan, supernatural and magical connections.
Join us for an enchanting walk around Whiteknights campus exploring its magical, supernatural and Pagan links.
When: Sunday, 9th March 2025
Where: Meet outside Park House, Reading University, Reading, RG6 6UA.
Time: 11:00 AM
This is a permissive circular walk around the Whiteknights campus, that starts and finishes from Park House bar. The walk is mostly on tarmac, but there are some woodland and gravel paths which may be muddy. The walk covers 2.8 miles (4.5 km). Allow 1 ½ hours plus stops.
What’s Special About the Whiteknights Campus?
A walk through the University’s award-winning parkland, which passes the older buildings on the campus which pre-date the University - Park House, Blandford Lodge, Old Whiteknights House and the rather magnificent Foxhill House - which has been connected with some rather spooky going-ons. On our walk we will explore tales of ghostly apparitions, satanic rituals, witches covens, infamous occultists and the campuses extraordinary connection with Stonehenge!

Paths may be muddy, so wear appropriate footwear and dress for the weather.

Museum of English Rural Life Visit
Date: Sunday 20th April 2025
Time: 10am onwards (no need to gather or wait around for others to arrive). Museum shuts at 5pm.
Location: 6, Redlands Road, Reading RG1 5EX
Cost: Suggested donation to museum £5 (entry is free however)
The Museum of English Rural Life (The MERL) is owned and managed by the University of Reading and is England’s first and most extensive museum dedicated to farming, food, craft, rural life and countryside issues. Head on inside upon arrival and enjoy the astonishing array of items which tell an important part of the history of England.
The museum brings this extraordinary collection of objects, archives, photographs and books to life in nine differnt, innovative and intriguing galleries. Each gallery explores a different theme such as A Year on the Farm, Town and Country, and Forces for Change. The interactive, immersive displays explore questions of identity, environment, technology, culture and health.
There is also a beautiful outdoor space and garden where you can enjoy a picnic, or a small cafe where you can purchase refreshments.
Accessibility
All Areas Accessible to Disabled Visitors and wheelchair users. Disabled Parking and toilet. Guide Dogs Permitted (no other dogs permitted).
Parking & Transport
A short walk from the centre of Reading, and easily accessible by the bus, rail or road. There is a small car park for museum visitors at the front of our building. Spaces are limited. Visitors are welcome to use the University Acacia Road car park adjacent to the museum. Visitors without a University parking permit must collect a permit from the museum reception, to be displayed in your car.
